Just found this on cnn.cn, was wondering if anyone has tried it yet. I must admit i dont like the white/translucent trackball the phone came with. im worried that itll start to turn yellow.. haha

I've been thinking about getting that myself..

It's not hard to install, there's a video on how to do it on that site. And with the Bold, you don't have to worry about dust being trapped under the LCD cover after putting it back on like you do with the Curve, which was my biggest annoyance.

I'm just not sure if popping it open and replacing the trackball will void the warranty? Anyone?

im sure your warrenty is voided if you do so. but seeing as how my bold is unlocked, thus my warrenty is void already, i dont have to worry about it.

I've done it also, Theres a video on the cnn.cn if you look under the blackberry 9000 parts. It shows you how to take it apart.

I just put one in my Bold. Took maybe 10 mins tops.

I'm a tradesman, and the damn white trackballs are brutal for dirty fingers. The black one is great

not hard at all.but the video doesnt show you anything..it shows you how to take the phone apart..but it doesnt show you a close up of the tabs u need to pull from the trackball clip..and yes if you open up your bold you will void warranty.
