Angry How do you open .BBB ( BlackBerryBackup) file

Please Login to Remove!

I had an emergency and backed up my 8900 on a Mac. The backup file emailed to me to retrieve the data, and BEHOLD!!! its not an .ipd file. Nothing outside of some forensic software will open it, Now i will sit in the corner and cuss out the Two PC OS Titans.

i have a mac also. all you have to do is go to the blackberry messanger and click restore. This only works if you have backed it up previous to the crash. hope this helps!

You need to restore it to another Blackberry using Desktop Manager.

guys im gonna rock your world.

OKAY READY?!

i just had to figure this out on my mac. my blackberry storm finally crapped out on me completely, so i backed it up, but couldnt figure out how to open the .bbb files. all the forums ive found only say its impossible.

OK!
STEP 1: copy your .BBB file to another folder so you dont screw with the original (optional)

STEP 2: change the file extension from .bbb to .zip

STEP 3: locate the .ipd file thats in the zip folder. simply choose Open With.... and open it with microsoft excel.

theres a lot of jibberish, but hit Command+F to open the find, type in the contacts name itll find it for you then youll see all your contacts there. GOOD LUCK ENJOY! i know i have a lot of numbers to copy now >.<
