I am not aware of any app which simulates the bed side mode of OS 4.6 and above. I did a hunt myself when I owned a 8320 but then I upgraded to a 8900..

However, the hope is when OS 5.0 will be out for the 83xx devices, the 83xx devices will have the bedside mode.
