Hello

I have converted from Palm to BB and have a few questions. Alot of mental reprogramming, from the Palm platform and experience that will take a couple of days to get used to.

1. How long do phone messages get held in the phones history?
2. Is there away to remove the end of the email, that states "sent via blackberry via att"?
3. Is there a way to enhance the vibrating feature to more than 3 vibes max?

More to follow as i am digesting this new experience!

TIA

1. Do you mean voicemail or sms? If its voicemail I think this is carrier dependent as its their service and not rim's?

2. Are you on BIS? if so sign into your account and where you can add and delete email addresses you should be able to edit the existing one, the 'sent via blackberry' is the default signature modify or delete.

3. Not sure there was a code on the forums somewhere (search) for extending the ring time, dont know if this will solve your problem, otherwise contact your carrier and ask for a longer ringtime before voicemail kicks in.

Well, i am refering to the call log...so we know how long this is held?
I am not on BIS yet....good suggestion..!!
The ring time issue isn't a huge one, it is just something i was used to- the palm used to vibe rather well, almost to the point of it being a ring tone! This was nice.

BTW: can the red button on the phone be used to silence a call, i.e.- mute, like the top button?

thanks

1. Your choice: Messages > Options > General Options > Keep Messages: set to your desire. I warn you that you need to keep your memory fresh by rebooting on a regular basis, or you may face loss of your call logs. Read this:
Why is my BlackBerry losing its call logs or message logs? - BlackBerryFAQ

2. ditto.

3. No, 3 is the max for the vibration.

Red button, the end key, will send you call to voice mail. The mute button, i am told, will allow the phone to ring until its set number of rings (to the caller) and then to voicemail.

Thanks JS

Ironically, if i would have looked deeper into the BBdesk manager, i would have found the set via BB att, and removed it....just like a kid at xmas with a new gadget!

The BIS, i set up, just didn't look deep enough..

Thanks for the message location....wow..an actual "forever" feature
