Default Curve "Searching for Network" w/ Full Service

Please Login to Remove!

I just noticed something very weird on my curve. When I click the green button to go to the phone screen, right above where it shows My Number it says "Searching for Network..." even though I have full service. I have no problems making calls or anything but it's just annoying to see that. Is this an issue with my phone or is this an issue that others have as well?

I get the same. When I am on a call it shows "Searching for Network" at the bottom of the screen, even though I am on a call. Weird.

Nope tried everything. I'm assuming its a bug in the software (and I wonder if they know about it since it's very subtle).

That bug has been there since the first version of 4.2.1 OS for other devices (at least that's when I noticed it.) I just quit worrying about it.

On the latest OS, I don't have that problem anymore, FWIW.

hehe i have been wondering about this too.

i get the same notice as well but im still making calls.

is there any updates to increase signal strength? on my verizon phone there was a way to update the roaming *something, which always seemed to give me a bit better reception.

Interesting tidbit...I got my phone unlocked by at&t yesterday and since I unlocked it I no longer have this problem. It now says at&t instead of "searching for network..."

when you have this problem are you still able to use your data functions? i have just started noticing this and it seems for the second or two that it says "searching for network" the data is on a hold.. or is what everyone is referring to only when you are on a call?

mine also doesn't seem to only do it in one screen, just occasionally and somewhat random places, sometimes at the home screen and sometimes when im in sms/mms...

is this the same bug you all are describing?

i tried that, didn't seem to help, its not that annoying since its only a second where i loose service while it "searches" and then pops back to full signal, but I was just trying to figure out if this is the bug everyone is talking about or not..

it sounded like some people were able to still go on the internet and stuff while it drops and "searches" but i can't seem to, i haven't noticed whether or not it ever does it when i am in the middle of a call though so i can't be sure..
