Default Use BB 9900 without SIM card

Please Login to Remove!

I have a disconnected 9900 that I want to use for testing apps and services like Office 365. I connected to my wifi and I can browse the web.
It has been securely wiped and when I go to setup an email account, I only have the choice for BES which I'm fairly certain I cannot do.

I used to be a heavy BB user but I havent used BB in a year and acquired this 9900 to test Office 365 and the hosted BB Administration service.

Is it possible to setup and get email without a sim card installed?

Not only do you need a connection to a mobile network, but you also need a BlackBerry data plan from the carrier.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess thats because the BB's native email app depends on RIM's infrastructure to deliver messages

Download "Logic Mail" from the web and you will get email. No plan needed for Logic Mail email to work!

It's no longer that simple.
