Unhappy How do u Blacklist a number? Can you?

Please Login to Remove!

I am being harrassed by someone and I met once, literally for 20 minutes through sport. I have never answered any of his sms's and only once had a male friend answer the phone to tell him to stop calling me. This has escalated the problem. He now calls at all hours and sends messages all the time.
My service provider cannot block numbers and before I go to the hassal of changing my number, I was hoping you all may have some ideas. Someone said I could download an application that can block his calls/sms's.

Help.

one of the BEST apps ive seen is this thing called PrivacyStar. it blocks EVERYTHING all 888, 800,877, 866, or u can tell it to black particular numbers, u can also send out acomplaint, as well as look up the number and it will tell you who it is. ITs 12.99 for 6 months, but WELL worth it if your getting bombarded by calls everyday. what it does is automatically picks up the call and then ends it really fast. .......OR you can try this OTHER program thats FREE... youmail.com its a voicemail system where u can give people your on personal voicemail, and u have the option of BLOCKING numbers so they CANT leave a voicemail and u can give THOSE people a message like "this numberis out of service" and doesnt give them the option to leave a message. its REALYL awesome. check it out.

The easiest way to do this, without applications, and involving money... if you have an account through your carrier, you can do it free, if not you can create one for free, it's a much better alternative...

cheers

Default 800 numbers are toll free numbers.

The reason why the term 800 numbers is widely used is because 800 was the first telephone number prefix used for toll free numbers. These are special telephone numbers in which the number being called is charged instead of the caller. These are commonly used by businesses and companies to provide assistance and free access to present and would-be customers.

You also may want to consider a legal route. I mean, if you just met this person for 20 minutes, and they are stalking you like this, then it sounds like someone with issues that need to be dealt with, STRONGLY!

Good Luck.

I have a few numbers that call me that I don't want to talk to.

I save them to my contact list and then set their custom ringtone to 'none'.

I still get the voicemail but at least i dont' have to talk to them.
