Wondering what the folks on here are using and what you feel is the best twitter app to use.

I've used both. Ubertwitter is really nice, but I personally find the berry twitter app much easier to use and geared for what I want. I deleted ubertwitter after about 10 mins of having the new app installed

I agree with above. I think the RIM app will surpass many. I always saw Ubertwitter as battery hog

They're both nice. The berry twitter has great looks, but with uber whenever you type in '@' all the people you follow come up which is something I like.

I prefer the RIM Twitter client. The biggest drawback is that you can't edit a ReTweet.

Gotta agree with the crowd here, I've found the RIM twitter actually pretty (compared the LinkedIn App and first few FaceBook Apps).

Message integration is nice, but I have no way of searching my messages icon for only twitter messages

AKosnitzky, also agree on the battery hog statement I think that has plagued UT from the beginning if I remember correctly. Are still using SS or primarily the RIM Twitter nowadays?

I really like the RIM app, but the big drawback to me is it does not support multiple Twitter accounts. In UT, it's easy to switch from one account to the other. Also I don't see a way to report spam and spammer accounts.

BlackBerry Twitter is nice, and very slick, but it doesn't do URL shortening, and it doesn't do old-style editable retweets.

I did the same thing.

The only thing that I miss from Ubertwitter is the ability to put my GPS location with my tweets which doesn't seem to be a feature in the Twitter for Blackberry application.

Exactly! I went back to umber twitter because IF you pay close attention in setup, you can have it close- instead of "run in the background" using battery and memory. set your auto refresh to never, but have it refresh at open- for ultimate battery life if you don't need to know tweets until you have time to check. Most people are fine with that.

Wirelessly posted (Lets Go Canes!)

My hope is that Apps like Seemsic will improve and that Social Scope would be more available

I haven't seen an update from SocialScope in months.. Maybe 6-8 months now.

If they don't do something eventually they will just fade away.

I deleted the RIM twitter app, but I am thinking about redownloading it. I get frustrated with UT because you can't go back very far in the timeline. I will keep UT too.

Thumbs up

Hard 2 say, I like ubertwitter as far as what it does. The rim app is better to look at with more color. Ubertwitter allows you to preview pics in a small icon within the tweets where rim it's only for a a select few otherwise it has the url. I currently have both installed. You can do tweet long with ubertwitter where so far rim does not have that option as well as geotagging. All in all if you like looks and are a simple twitter user then go with rim but if you care more about performance over looks then go with ubertwitter. I'm undecided @ this point with both installed
