Default 8300 Curve on ATT voice quality?

Please Login to Remove!

i'm thinking about switching over from verizon(Treo 700p) to ATT(BB 8300 Curve). Can anyone tell me how the call quality is? And is it easy to unlock the curve, so I can use it in asia?

I have a Curve on AT&T and I find the voice quality to be excellent, as good as I have had with any phone to date. As for unlocking, I have no idea.

i'm biased because i absolutely despised my Treo 650, was a major POS in my opinion...

i'd switch...

I hated the Treo when I had it. Keyboard sucked. Touch screen was useless without handwriting recognition. I'm a blackberry nut now.

I came to BlackBerry from Treo also...the 680, which was far from a bad device. Personally, I liked the keyboard...and the touchscreen function also. But, the email (VersaMail) and OS was too flakey for me...simply put. The BlackBerry is much more stable and solid an OS for me...

The 8300 Curve is an excellent device. I have two priorities with a handheld device...that it be a reliable and instant souce of email and messages, and that it be an excellent communication device with adequate earpiece speaker volume and great call/voice quality (a thing lacking in many smartphones)...and the BlackBerry 8300 Curve excels in both of these areas. It's a keeper!!

I'm having my 8800 replaced under warranty and they didn't have it in stock so they're sending me a curve. I'm anxious for the music features, streaming xm, etc. I will really miss the gps, but I can get a bluetooth puck for 60 bucks. So no real trade off. Plus the 8800 build quality is awful-squeaky, etc. Everyone says the build on the curve is much improved.

I, too, have AT&T with the Curve ((just upgraded to the Curve Sunday evening) and find the quality of the calls MUCH better than on my Pearl. I was having problems hearing the conversation fully with my Pearl. Am VERY pleased with AT&T and the Curve.

I love the call quality, loud and clear!

I'd recommend it most definitely.

I've been told that the voice quality with the curve is much better than when I had the verizon BB8830. It s very clear. So far the curve hasn't let me down and has been my best smartphone date.

Default Curve

I love my Curve and I moved my whole company from Verizon to ATT here in Atlanta,GA. I can defineivly say the phone is great and GSM service is EXTREMELY inferior to CDMA. In Atlanta call coverage and quality is definetly worse on ATT than Verizon.

Let em stress we LOVE the curves, 8100's and 8800's we have purchased and the BB is far superior to WM2006 and Palm platform.

wow im surprised everyone has great service with their AT&T cell phone service on their curve as i will be dr. killjoy and say that AT&T call quality is not nearly as well as Verizon, period! I have had dropped calls already and had dead spots every so often making me feeling sad as to why I did leave the best network.

Don't get me wrong I love the phone as it works great for my needs but the call quality is definately something I'll miss.

Default Better than 8700c

I upgraded from an 8700c and can hear dramatic improvements in the 8300's voice quality. It also works well with the Bluetooth devices in my cars and headset (Plantronics.)
