While rearranging icons on the home screen of a new 8300, I somehow lost the browser icon. The browser still operates...but you can only find it through task switching. I've searched every folder, used show all, checked MDS, re-registered, used app loader, resent service books...all to no avail. Did a battery pull too. The browser is there in the task switcher and performs just fine...but no icon anywhere on a menu.
I was moving the browser icon while on the home screen when this happened. I got a little fast with the trackball moving towards the upper left corner and boom, gone. Never even had a chance to click the trackball for the destination of the move.
I'm at a loss! Anybody have a clue?

Did you create any folders for your homescreen. It is possible while moving this "lost" icon you, by accident, dropped it in one of these folders. Put the device in "show all" mode and click on each folder to look at it's contents.

Go To Options -> Theme -> Menu -> Reset Theme defaults

No, I haven't created any folders. And as noted in the original, I've searched all existing folders in "show all" mode. Nada!

Of note...it's only missing from the at&t theme.

That did it!!! Of course I have to repeat all the customization...but that's fine!

hi,

same prob for me but really worst, as I have created a folder on the home screen and I put the options icon inside, then it disappeared!

I have updated the latest OS but nothing. I have obviously pulled the battery, did a soft reset, sent the services through the webpage (I am on BIS)

what can I do?
