I will be syncing my 9630 with a work laptop and a personal laptop. I am looking to sync my calendar with both which shouldn’t be a problem. But my question is this. On my todo’s, can you sync just one category? I have a lot of personal todo’s that I do not want sync’d to a work laptop. So the question is can you pick and choose which categories get sync’d.

Yes you can. You can not choose within the category.
