I copied this from the website but I still don't really see the point unless I am just confused.

I installed the app. Basically it is an IM program that allows chats with MSN, AIM, YAHOO and Jabber contacts.

Gizmo Project is a voip product that also includes an im feature. If you have call out credits, you can call any phone number for (I think) $.015 per minute. One nice thing about Gizmo is that GrandCentral can forward to your Gizmo number. I have a regular account with Gizmo and use it to make calls from my laptop and it works quite well..basically like Skype and about the same quality for me so far. What I am wondering is if this will allow you to make calls (assuming you have purchased call in / out credits) using the data plan versus cell minutes. If so, this would be a nice product. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to successfully download the client to my 8830 on Sprint yet...I keep getting error messages.

Hi Folks,

downloaded to 8310. Wanted to enter my phone number (the hint states that it should be done like the standard international specification +49 for Germany e.g.). But the program only lets you enter numbers. There is no chance to enter a "+" sign - not even with copy and paste. So no go for me.

Seems extremly buggy or not tested at all...

Greetings

Downloaded. Installed. Used. Not feeling it that much. It works kind of how earlier beta's of Opera did on the BB. It isn't really BB "friendly" as entering text into a chat requires you to hit the menu key, then "send" instead of just hitting "enter."

Definitely a program in its infancy. Haven't found a way to get out of the app and leave it running in the bkgd yet other than the "end call" key on my 8830. Overall, not bad though. Just not yet refined....which is expected for an early version I guess. But to put this into perspective.......its awesome for free. Lol.

Oh and to an earlier poster, just enter your number without the pluses.

We gotta make sure this uses strictly data and not messaging. I don't wanna end up with a 30 page bill. :(

Ok, I downloaded and tried to register, but it is asking for my Mobile number.. why? I really don't care why, because I am not giving them my number, they will send me crappy SMS messages after a while. So, this one is a NO GO! I am uninstalling it for now.
