Just wondering what a first time BB owner should know about the new tour. Was reading about some how to reset the phone to clear RAM out. What important things do i need to know about servicing my new Tour?

Welcome to the group!

Three things I recommend:

Read the stickies at the top of the subforums.

Look through blackberryfaq.com.

Play with the new blackberry. Drill down through all the menus and options.

Blackberrys are different. Forget what you know about other pda's and smartphones. When you are playing with the blackberry and going through the menus and options, don't expect the blackberry to do things the way you are used to; just get a sense of the blackberry way to doing things and go from there.

Yes you remove the battery.
It frees up memory, it also sorts out 99% of problems you may encounter with your BB.

A battery pull is the method of resetting the defice. As Midnight says, it fixes most issues. Truly, it is _the_ first thing to try when the blackberry is not working right.

I hardly ever pull the battery. I understand, though, that there is an app that will do a reset for you, and can be scheduled (such as during the night). I'm sure you'll find it if you look around. Check appworld, too.

On qwerty devices, pressing alt-cap-del will reboot the device. Some say it isn't as effective as a battery pull, and maybe in some cases it isn't. But it's what I do when the need arises, and it works for me.

There is a free version of a program called Quick Pull that you can set to clear at any given time. I do mine at 5:00 just before I get up. Works super. Also look at a free program Poynt gives lots of good info on restaurants , and movies even shows previews of the movies
