i woke up this morning to my blackberry 9700 not working..

the red light at the top right hand corner goes on for about 10 seconds then turns off and shows the blackberry loading screen..
it then tries to load and gets up to about 3/4's of the way accross the loading bar and then i get a white flash and the screen goes dead..

and then the red light comes back on and it repeats again and again..

WHATS GOING ON!? :'(


ive tried charging it and it has been charging for almost 2 hours with no luck. i dont know what to do, any help would be really appreciated.

What did you do just before it died?

When you plug into a PC, is the device recognized by DM?

Might be a bad battery or a corrupt file someplace.

i didnt do anything out of the ordinary i just put it on my bedside table before i went to bed and then woke up with it not working :/

i have recently lost the cable that connects my bb to the computer, so ill get a new one and give it a go...

You do realize the blackberry needs to be charged dont you????

yes
its been charging all day (around 6 hours) now and its still repeating this same screen.. even while charging..

As said before if you let it run down a lot the battery probably needs replacing at the least. worst case is the discharge corrupted the OS and will need to be replaced.

Turn it off and let it charge for a day

i never normally let it run down.. i thought it would last at least until the morning.. the battery was half full..

what does the next bit you said mean? (the worst case bit)

If the OS has become corrupted you will need to replace it. The easiesy way is to do an upgrade via desktop manager. Wait to see if it recovers.
