Default Any reliable 3rd party solutions to sync calendar/contacts over BIS?

Please Login to Remove!

I have seen a few through browsing but some of them are expensive and confusing. Are there any solutions that, even through BIS, can deliver live mail, sync folders, contacts and calendars? I work for a small organization who has no need for BES. How do those services work? What would I be setting up in BIS? Are they reliable? Are there any downsides? Thanks!

I've never tried it, but have a look at this thread http://www.blackberryforums.com/bbf-...-ota-sync.html

That doesn't look bad but I don't see e-mail sync.

If you use Google App for Email then you can download GoogleSync to sync calendars and Contacts to the blackberry Device. Works very well. I use it all the time.

If you dont use a Google App account but do have a google email account and some of other employees have it aswell, just install the app and have it sync the contact/calendars to that account.

Also look into hosting a Opensource Funambol server. You can get more details over at Funambol Open Source Mobile Cloud Sync and Push Email to try out the service just register for an account over at http://my.funambol.com/

I dont know what's your budget like but if you can do have a look at Zimbra.

To sync files and all, you can use sugarsync. The free account gives you 2GB of space and allows you to sync 3 devices. 2 Pc's/Mac and 1 Mobile Device. It saves your files in the count and allows you to access them from anywhere. Has a nice native client for BB.

Let me know if any of these help your cause.

Good Luck.

You won't find such a solution. As mentioned above, email doesn't sync on BB's.

Subfolder support is only available with BES. Your organization would have to arrange to host its email and BES through a BES hosting service if it doesn't want to run its own BES and supported mail sever.

I'm guessing here but I think your best and nearest practical solution is Google Sync (never used it myself though).

Skydeck will give you a web based interface to see your messages you receive during the day. It also syncs to your contacts, and call manager(s) too.
Check it out, it's free.
