Default Blackberry 7750 - Need Advice to save $$

Please Login to Remove!

Need advice...I am starting a 2nd small business & need to purchase 3-4 BB devices.... I can purchase the BB 7750's Brand New for around $60.00 each vs. $399.00 for the 8830's ( I have verizon service). If I buy the 7750's I do NOT have to extend my contract with verizon for 2 years which is a big plus at this point. However, I need to know if the 7750 is going to give me the same service & features as the newer models. Any and all opinions are greatly welcomed. Thanks...

Wirelessly posted (8330 Sprint)

Depends upon whether you're using the BB for PIM functions only, or if you need media or international use.

The 7750s were *really* slow. They have no media capabilities. You may be very disappointed. See if you can use one for a few days before buying. May not be worth the $60.

If you are using the BB's for email, text messaging and telephone services only, they will work just fine. In fact they have the best keyboards that RIM ever produced, but if you need to use them for web browsing, or any image management . . . . forget it!

The lack of a contract . . . is a real plus in my view . . . . especially if you are just getting started an don't know how the BB's will work for you.

Plus you won't have to worry about your staff surfing the net etc on these devices because they are slow as mentioned above.

Speed is not a factor in emails or text messaging.

You could also ask Verizon if they have any 7250's for the same package because they are considerably faster and more compact.

My first BB was a 7750. It was so slow and clunky that I tried to avoid using it unless I had to. Sometimes, when I received a phone call on it, I would hear the first half second of the ringer, then I'd get an hour glass. By the time the hour glass went away, the phone call would have already gone to voicemail (25-30 seconds!).

It was *really* bad. Plus the device was giant and clunky.

At the very least, see if you can get a 7250, perhaps even an 87xx series.

Ditto this!! At least a 7250. You really might consider the 8700 series as well.

I agree, get some 8700's (8703 CDMA version). Should be cheap to pick up and built like tanks, and has a much better screen.
