We are now accepting beta requests. We will take the 1st 30 or so requests posted in this thread. PLEASE DO NOT SEND US PRIVATE MESSAGES.

You must list your email address and your BB model. You will get a response within the next day or two on the Beta download information.

This beta currently is ONLY available on BB OS 4.2 meaning the 8100 (pearl), 88xx, and 8300 (curve) series or an 8700 that’s been upgraded to OS 4.2.

There will be a version for earlier OS versions later next week, but some of the new functionality won't work as it depends on the OS.

General

• New PocketDay Icon
  New Crisp 3-D sections

  New Trackball usage – single click open
  Full Screen Views
  • Move the Trackball left/right to bring up the View switcher. Select a view and click to switch to it. Press ESC to go back to summary view.

Email

• New Email Preview (press Spacebar when an email is highlighted). This will NOT mark the email as open.
  Create a Calendar Event from an Email (on Menu when viewing an email)
  Create a ToDo from an Email (on Menu when viewing an email)

Tasks

• Category Support !!!!
  New sorting options on Task View (Press T)
  Add a contact reference to a Task This allows you to quickly Call or Email the contact when the calendar item is open inside PocketDay.

Calendar

• Add a Contact Reference to a calendar item. This allows you to quickly Call or Email the contact when the calendar item is open inside PocketDay.
  Support for simple Recurring events (create/modify) … no support for exceptions
  New show time on left side of page
  MonthView
  • Spacebar pops open the day preview
    Trackball now scrolls left/right and up/down

Memo Section

• Full support for BB Memos

RSS

• New enhanced RSS display (shows images, etc).
  Added new Traffic feeds
  Added additional Built in feeds

Sports

• New – use spacebar for the Status Preview (no longer pops up by itself)

Miscellaneous Fixes

• Missed Calls now in correct order (most recent first)
  7-Day weather now faster
