Default Blackberry as a wireless mouse

Please Login to Remove!

I know this is possible on a Mac but was wondering if anyone has any experience on a PC. My friend has a Mac and he is able to pair up his bluetooth phone with his computer allowing it to act as a wireless mouse. Specifically, I saw him using it to control powerpoint slides and such. Was wondering if anyone is aware of any such capability for the PC or any 3rd party software?

Imagine the possibilities....

I think you might be referring to this wwwdotsallingdotcom/Clicker/windows/
but they are not supporting BBs right now, are you sure it was a Pearl?

There are many programs that utilize bluetooth on wireless phones to control power point.
I think someone was trying to pull ur leg with the wireless mouse....

I have used a similar feature on a Nokia (Symbian 60). where you can control the powerpoint to the extent of getting the speaker notes on your mobile and using the mouse and also changing the slides. it is really cool.

I wish it was possible with Pearl as well.

The program from Salling Software - Home can actually control powere point presentations as well as Itunes, it connects via bluetooth or wifi (it is not meant for the BB yet)

Some phones with Bluetooth capability support the HID profile which can act as a secondary input device. Most Sony Ericsson phones support this. This capability depends on the phone and not the host device be it a Mac or PC.

The Bluetooth capability on the BB are pretty rudimentary, so this is not possible.

My last phone, an Ericsson, allowed me to control the cursor on my windows machine. This was a built in function of the phone. It was a k750i.

what a coincidence....just yesterday i accidentally was trying to use my blackberry pearl as my mouse---i had laid it next to my wireless mouse and accidentally started moving my pearl instead of the mouse...and i then thought to myself, "wouldn't it be the coolest thing if my BB pearl had that capability". seriously, it would be.

Default RIM and Bluetooth Profiles

I really wish that they would add more bluetooth profiles to their devices. I especially want them to add A2DP so I can get rid of my ipod.

how would this at all be possible?

turn your precious berry upside down ad move the track ball on the surface or just hold your pearl and move the ball around like your scrolling the bb home screen?

Default Salling Clicker

Salling Clicker is what he was using. it works over bluetooth and wifi, its cross platform, totally awesome and it doesn't work with the blackberry.

salling.com/Clicker/

there has been some movement on this lately, you can check up on it here.

yup, bluetooth. that device had a little joystick for navigating menu's and such, and it used the joystick when connected through bluetooth to move the cursor on the screen. It was a little cumbersome but it was great for controlling my media player from across the room.

It is possible, my SE has the function to use it as a mouse for my PC, it works as a Windows mouse so it functions in all apps.
