Question Voice Dialing - Need Help

Please Login to Remove!

ok, i've read the manual and yet i'm still at a loss on how to set up my voice dialing.

back in the day, phones with voice dialing had you run through some voice tests to get the device to recognize YOUR voice. there was also an option to assign your voice to each name in your address book you may call using that feature.

can someone show me exactly how to set up voice dialing for the 8100? like i've said, i've read the manual and it does tell me what to do. however, it doesn't tell me how to set it up. obviously it's not working for me, i just need some help if you could spare the time.

thanks!!

My recollection is that you just start doing it. Click on voice dial, a the speaker will ask you to say a commmand. Say, for example, "Call" then say the number 555-555-5555. It will recognize your command without training. Once you have populated your directory, say "Call John Smith Mobile," or whatever and it will repeat it to you and ask for a confirmation, then dial for you. You can also say Check Coverage and Check Battery.

It's confusing because it's simple.

You don't need to set up anything. You just do it.

I find that I can increase accuracy if I set the voice dialing input language to UK English and speak in a comically exaggerated fake English accent.

I find that the voice is very hard to understand...like its underwater with marbles in her mouth. I love when i say a name...and it goes through a list of 3 people it could be and i cant understand any of them. I hope theres a way to update the voice so that its understandable.

Default How I made voice dialing work...

This took me a long time to figure out - I guess because with my last phone, I trained it and I only used first names...

With the Perl, you need to use first and last names!
