Only issue i am having is Rove Mobile Admin client will not connect. Just sits spinning it's wheels at the initial connection screen after I enter the server name (and never errors out). if i change the connection from BES to anything else it says it can't contact the host (which make sense since the server i am connecting to is on the corp network and not exposed to the intarwebs). Worked fine before the upgrade (which i used to set my ea password).

All is working now with my Facebook & GMail issue. Took a few reboots before all the service books came down. It worked after the freaking Bing icon came down.

Only issue now is that BBM isn't working quite right. It installed from App World, but I couldn't find the icon anywhere (trust me, I looked in every folder). I'm going to uninstall, do a few reboots and try again.

There are some BBM outages that exist. It may not be the OS

It's installed and working fine, but the icon isn't anywhere. I can get to it as a running app, but not any other way. No biggie. Still trying different things to get it icon to show up.

time passes...

Yay, got the icon to show up. Installed the version from the web site rather than from App World.

All seems to be working properly, even RSA. I'm a happy camper.

Will see how signal and battery are over the next few days.

Set from Stripes to Lines. No lines. Not even FAINT lines. Pure white background.

Rebooted (which seems a little quicker than 230).

Still no lines.

Precision Zen.

To go with my Contact Alert issue I posted about earlier...

(I am not sure how many users utilize this, since I haven't seen much posted about it)

The workaround I posted earlier is no big issue. Certainly something you can live with. In addition to that, I found that the contact alert tone (whatever you pick) doesn't change for Messages to be different from the profile you are in. The Ringtone for calls changes properly.

I use different notifications for different people and right now I just get the default. It will be OK for me. Sure isn't a reason to go back!! However, I do hope they fix it before the official release. This sure is close.

I sort of have a small problem with this version...

I sort of told a co-worker that I would give my left nut if they would bring the 4.5 "customize everything" profiles back in 4.7 or 5.x. Now that they've done that, he wants to collect.

I've very, very, very glad it's back, but I'm also a little scared.

Ouch! Good luck on that.

I disliked the 4.7.x profile system, was happy with the 4.5.x. Over time just got over it and got used to it. lol

Thanks everyone for your input.

Being a "new" guy, I need a little help. I JUST got my Tour and I want this OS update. Being new to BB's also, I am a little lost. How do I go about getting the BB thing for my laptop, so that I can down load this OS.

If you were to walk a 6th grader through this, how would you do it? That is about how I am going to need it broke down for me. Sorry, but I am still learning. If you don't want to take up Thread space then PM me with the info

You guys and gals have been great with helping me out so far. Thanks ahead of time

This OS was well worth the wait. It even seems faster than 230. Hopefully this will soon be official...

Instructions for installing an OS:

1. Install BlackBerry Desktop Manager to your PC (came with the CD you got with your device, or you can download it from BlackBerry.com - get version 5.0). Only need to do this once.
2. Download the OS file to a PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
3. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
4. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

From there you will be able to check/uncheck options to add/remove (i.e., languages you don't want you can uncheck).

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."

If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Sprint Navigation isn't working, but Google Maps does. I get the "Turn GPS on >Options>Advanced Options>etc, etc, etc.." I'm wondering if Google Maps locks the GPS to itself, and won't allow other programs to access it. Unfortunately, I am away from my main computer, and unable to test my theory. BB Maps works though, so I am at a loss.
That and the Blackberry Registration email that I get every time I run Quickpull Pro. And the occasional blinking red light notification that comes from nowhere...
