Mine is a single Rogers. They make really scary movies about dual/multiple personality people... wonder what the market is for multiple personality phones...

I updated my Bold last night to 0s 4.6.0.150

It's working fine. No issues at all.

I tried this build but had to roll back to 147.

On my Bold i experienced 2 lockups which required a battery pull, together with a problem with Ringtones. The phone would ring once, then subsequent calls were silent, no ringtone.

Rolling back to 147 cured this problem right away. I did try a battery pull (30 seconds +) which didn't rectify this.

I find it so weird that some ppl have issues with certain builds and some don't. I would think that the problems should at least be consistant. I personally don't have any problems with .150.

On the Double-Bubble carrier name thing: Some have reported that replacing the SIM card itself fixed the issue. When I picked up my own Bold from Rogers I had them murder the old card and used the fresh one in the box. Newer SIMS have more memory and support newer Carrier features better (I'm told).

TTune- the reason that happening to you on the apps is because they are being re-installed instead of restored from backed up...i.e., take the installer file from the root directory and rename it or move it.

Take DocsToGo as an example. I have the upgraded Premium version...normally it would be re-set to the 1.0 standard version.

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9000-v4.6.0.147_P4.0.0.144 (as an example...this will be whatever the root directory of your freshly installed OS is).

There you will see several ALX files which are the loader files. move or rename the DocumentsToGo file and your all set...DM will now regard this as a third party file and reload the programs from the backup created when you started loading the new OS.

Good luck. JV

JV - Thank you very much for taking the time out of your day to provide some advice and a workaround. It's really appreciated!

I'm getting ready to fly in a few hours so don't have time to play with it now but does this method work for the non-RIM-supplied applications (such as Google Maps?) I can see Docs to Go because RIM's version will overwrite it. Is it as easy as moving the ALX files from my desktop backup folder to the source directory and everything is picked up?

Some applications don't come with ALX files, for example (like GMM or a couple of the games I've purchased over the air) - do you have another workaround for them?
Thank you, again,
TT.

I rarely wipe a device before upgrading. I rarely have problems. Most issues are due to 3rd party applications.

I agree, I've never wiped before upgrading and have yet to have any issues with any of the four bolds I've used with any of the OS's.

Default Contacts in .150

I've noticed that editing Bold Contacts in .150 is much much improved over previous releases of any Berry. Specifically you can now add what Outlook calls "details" such as birthday, anniversary, etc.

For those of you using Outlook 2007 with your Bolds, it now supports the little pictures that you can add to any Outlook Contact - they'll show up on the Bold as well in several places including the Calling screen and any email from that contact will also be flagged with that image.

Still playing.

i think i noticed a change because i don't remember this in .147

when replying to a sms, there is no longer a huge gap between the previous message and the one you're typing

Default Rock solid...

Been running this for about 2 days now and it's been rock solid for me. Browsing is a little bit faster and the battery is much better. No memory leaks. This is a solid build.
