Question 8GB microSD card for BB 8310

Please Login to Remove!

I ordered my 8GB microSD card (Amazon.com: SanDisk 8GB microSDHC Card (SDSDQ-8192, Bulk Package): Electronics) because I had been looking for a media card and I remember a frequent poster say he has an 8GB on his 8310 and it works fine. But in the older thread about microSD cards, I got the feeling that BB 83xx models don't support 8GB. My 8310 is currently running the latest OS (4.5).

Probably so. Of course Scandisk could be some knockoff out there.

Or a subsidiary of Scamdisk.

I have an 8GB Sandisk in my Curve. The switch from the 2GB was painless. I simply copied the info from the 2GB to a folder on the computer and back to the 8GB thereby retaining the folder structures. Swapped the cards and didn't even have to reset my wallpaper and mp3 ringtones.

Picked up my 8GB Sandisk Micro SD-8 GB off ebay for 32.47 shipped. Seller was located in Ca. Came with a Sandisk SD Adapter. Great card.

Default 4.2 will support 8gb

4.2 will support 8gb microsd. I had to format the card first Fat32 in a pc. At first it would not format the 8gb. After formating on the pc, you can manage the card. 4.5 is supposed to be able to manage the 8gb natively.
