Please Login to Remove!

I have new 8310 and love it....however, battery just barely lasts a day for me. I heard you can get better mA hour batteries for 8310 ? What is stock one I have ? What & Where are others available...suggestion ?

FYI - You really should troubleshoot the cause of your lame battery life. You should be getting a couple/few days out of it. Even with fairly heavy use I get nearly 2 full 24 hour periods out of mine.

If the reason your battery drains so quickly persists, you likely won't get the advertised lifespan on your new one either.

Heavy use of GPS, or leaving applications open and running in the background are 2 of the usual suspects for decreased battery life... especially with a new device.

What is the mA hour rating of the C-S2 stock battery ?

I used the Seidio higher capacity battery and it only increased my capacity by about 10%. Not sure if you would notice any difference. What I did like about this battery is was it was slightly thicker and made the door fit better.

Blackberrys are know for exceptional battery run time so unless you are doing a whole lot on your phone, it could be you have a bad battery or handheld. I do 2000+ minutes a month and 60-70 emails a day and still have 40% left at the end of the day.

Some 3rd party software will drain the battery quickly

Good data point....I do more e:mails a day and with the new phone I'm always looking at the screen and thus ligthing the backlite up.....I did have a 2 minutes to turn off backlite...moved down to 30 seconds. I have about 30%+ left at end of day. My concern is at 15% the radio shuts off....wish they would let you set that to a lower threshold like 5%.

Just moving the backlight from 2 minutes to 30 secs will be a huge help. The backlight likely is the 2nd highest consumer of power. The most is talking on the phone. The extra capacity battery will maybe give you 40% and might be what you need. If you are around a computer you can do a quickie with the USB plug. I do when I know it is going to be a late night.

Just enjoy, the Blackberry is a nice device!

with mine, i've found that if i use google maps often, or jivetalk, it kills the battery in a day or so. if i just talk and use the browser mostly i have almost 2 full days before i HAVE to charge it.

Also, it helps to keep the phone in the provided sleeve when not actively being used. My friend and I had the same phone and she didn't use the sleeve and had horrible battery life. Just using the sleeve gave her another day. When you exit an app. be sure to use close in the menu list not the end call button as that doesn't always shut down a program.
