I was just wondering... how does it happen? Will i get a service message from TMO telling me there is an OS upgrade available? Or will i have to do something using the desktop manager?
Cheers

We will find out about it the same way, at the same time.

From people here on BlackBerry Forums.

Usually you get a text message from TMO, but by the time that message goes out to customers, the OS download link has been available here for a while already.

I almost never download the OS when TMO releases it, I download it from links here.

As for 4.5...yeah...just chill, it will come when it comes.

Question about 4.5

I have loaded os 4.5.0.10 on my 8320. Everything works great except I seem to be missing Blackberry Maps. Blackberry maps is checked in desktop manager... I am on t-mobile and have an 8320. I checked the lbs.alx and even replaced it in hopes that the icon would show up on the screen.

That appears to be the only thing missing for me from the beta. I do have to say, on BES, the device is twice as fast and responsive then 4.2.2.184. It is so much easier to read emails with the new format... as well as if you have security colors enabled... you no longer have lines running through the email like a candy stipe.. but the color is actually the background outside the bubbles.

I have reloaded the whole os from scratch twice and can't get blackberry maps. I will not share where or how I got it so don't ask..

btw... I think the leak is from a "chinese" provider.... Some of the alx files are geared towards installing more cod's for chinese.

Anyone else as daring as me to load it? do you have blackberry maps working? does it have poi?

Can we talk about beta os and its workings without violating the rules here..or are we not allowed to even discuss beta here at all?

I've never gotten a message from TMo about an update. This forum is the best source of info, and you'll be able to snag the latest carrier version from links provided here. TMo won't even have their version out and I'll be sporting it, courtesy of BlackBerryForums!

You need only visit here!

Not much get by people here. I got like five Google Alerts set to warn me when the new OS bomb drops. You will get it from a URL pointed at here way before T-Mo has a hint that it is coming!

I am still betting we will not see a new OS to download until after a new RIM device comes out with the new OS installed.

I'm still curious as to if we can finally stream youtube videos with the new OS. All the other new features such as DocumentToGo are nice as well but I'm still reluctant to installing it just yet.
