My local Best Buy still has a couple Veer phones for AT&T. TouchPads were out of stock 15 minutes after the opening today.

RIM acquired QNX - I can't imagine why they would want or need WebOS.

WebOS is an "also ran". They tried, they failed. First with Palm, then with HP. WebOS would have been a huge success if it came out a couple years before they finally got it out the door. Palm announced it almost three years before it appeared on store shelves. In the interim, while Palm was running around with it's hair on fire looking like the Keystone Kops, Android shot out of the gate, plus Apple's iOS became a runaway hit. Maybe WebOS could have been a contender but Palm's complete lack of timing doomed it to failure.

My Pre2 will now be placed in the collector's item section of my phone closet.

Yeah, my original Pre is sitting next to my Apple PowerBook 2400 and a small stack of Sony Betamax tapes.

Because WebOS has already been deployed and has shown to work in handhelds. There are no QNX handhelds yet deployed and it has been reported RIM was having issues with it.

Are we talking about Palm or RIM?

Palm. Palm is dead. They died when they spun off PalmOS from the hardware group.

Something I'm sure, Argo, you advocated for years.

Well, HP appears to want to keep WebOS alive. I don't see where as they killed off the hardware for it...

HP to Keep Supporting

Wonder if some company bought a bunch of WebOS devices from HP and included the "support until hell freezes over" legalese in the PO. This might explain the bizarre situation.

By the way, hello js.
