Default How to turn off Wireless Sync? HELP QUICK!

Please Login to Remove!

This is driving me nuts....

I'm trying to sync my new Curve 8520 with my laptop via the cable but cannot as "....Wireless Sync is on....".

The following (from the DM v6 disc that came with it) 'explains' how to turn it off:

To synchronize your organizer data, you must turn off wireless synchronization for each type of organizer data that you want to synchronize using the BlackBerry® Desktop Software.

On your BlackBerry® device, in the Calendar application, Contacts application, Tasks application, or MemoPad, press the Menu key > Options.

If necessary, click a calendar or contact list.

Change the Wireless Synchronization field to No or clear the Wireless Synchronization check box.

Press the Menu key > Save.

Seems pretty straightforward but I don't get these options!! I can do the first one but then there is absolutely no mention anywhere of Wireless Sync.

I've tried everything I can think of and have gone through almost every menu without success.

PLEASE can someone tell me how to do it or what I'm doing wrong?!

Is your device a personal device or connected to your employers BB server?

Bear with me here!

It's an employer-supplied device but I'm pretty sure it's not connected to a BB server (it's on Orange if that helps?).

I manually added my work e-mail address i.e it wasn't pre-loaded.

Did you go thru 'enterprise activation' to set up your email or use the Email Setup icon?

Just had to look again!

I DIDN'T use the 'Enterprise' option, merely adding my work (in addition to my personal) e-mail address. Both worked immediately.

I'm stuck too. I have synchronization to my laptop for all but my contacts which is says are connected "wireless". I can't turn it off so my Outlook will not synchronize the contact list with the BB. Everything else does, just not contacts. How do I fix this?

Contacts > Options > choose contact list > Uncheck 'Wireless Synchronization'

Repeat for all Contact Lists.

In V6 no such check option is made available.

I did figure out how to get it to allow me to sync with my Outlook Contacts again - kind of by accident. I deleted all the e-mail accounts on my phone, then I synchronized with Desktop. This time it allowed me to select Outlook Contacts synchronization, then I added my e-mail accounts back in. Definitely a bug, but try this workaround for now.

for OS 6.0 go to options > device > advanced system settings > enterprise activation > type "CNFG"
