Please Login to Remove!

You probably need the service books pushed back to your device... go to your BIS login and choose Help > Send Service Books.

Guys,

Thanks for the help. I am using BES, not BIS. But even the service book pushed didn't help... Any idea where I could find the MMS setup page?

BTW, I have upgraded to .418 this am and I still have the same issue...

Anyone that could help?

Gideho - what carrier are you using and what is the original carrier of the 9700?

Not sure if that has been posted yet. If you remove voice activated dialing you will lose the options menu for the phone and other phone functionality.

I am using the Base network (in Belgium). The original carrier was Orange (in France)... I have upgraded several times before and never seen this issue with MMS before...

I have not removed anything, but how could I check that this is present?

Thanks all for your help!

From the home screen, press the call button and then the menu button. Once the menu appears, scroll down to options. This should bring up the phone options.

Also, don't remove the help from the OS. The OS becomes unstable if you do this.

I've removed help with no issues. I edit the Help.alx file to make the box in apploader not greyed out.

Hello,

The voice activate dialing is present, as well as the help... But I still cannot send any MMS since upgrading to v6.0.0.380 (upgrade to .418 didn't help either)...

Any idea how to re-initialise this function?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,

I have found what was wrong : in my service catalog, I see that the following service is missing :

BASE MMS2 Client [WPTCP]

Hence I cannot send (or received) any MMS.

Do you have any idea on how we can add this service onto my device?

Does anyone with a BB9700, on OS 6.0.0.380 or .418 has this service in his service catalog?

Which won't do much if Base doesn't support or publish the 9700 service books.
Just like AT&T and T-Mobile US and the Storms.

You'll need to backup the service books from a supported OS. Then restore those service books after you install 6.0.

On the Service Book page type Alt + s b e c that will allow you to backup service books. Then when you restore you'll need to do the same thing

Hello,

This sounds like a very good idea! But I don't know how to back-up my service books... I have typed ALT + S B E B on my bb, then I had a message "Legacy SB Restore Enable" with a button OK. I clicked on OK, and then what should I do to back-up my service books??? Could you please be more precise, as I don't have a clue if the back-up should be done while the bb is connected to a PC, or if the back-up is doe on the SD card, or...

Thanks anyway for the idea!

You just make a regular backup using desktop manager. You can make a full backup of all the device data or a selective backup and just the service books. I prefer the selective backup and save the backup separate somewhere. Then after you load the OS6 you'll need to do a selective restore of the service book backup. You'll need to do the alt + s b e b and then restore the service books.
