Default problem after switching to a new BB model

Please Login to Remove!

Hi I just had this problem when trying to copy all data from my old BB to my new BB Bold.

I used the switching wizard with the normal fields checked (transfer data and apps was checked for sure) , but when it was over the old BB didnt have any data on it and the new one is missing all the contacts (over 800) and when i try to restore a backup file it doesnt show contact list anywhere

Please update your profile with the correct model number of the device. There are several different versions of the Bold with different OS'.

Have you synced with Outlook previously?

No, never and i used the switching device wizard from BB desktop, since it was from a BB to another the program let me do it without any sync to outlook.

Thx in advance im more worried about the data lost on the old one since its a bit weird than due to transfer the data has been deleted

with the old device what is it?
mainly if you backed up the old device it would of backed up everything on that BB
after that you would unplug the old BB plug in the new BB
then do a restore from that back up from to the NEW BB
or if you are only missing certain things then do a selective restore to the new BB

I'm thinking your old device might be bunked only other thing that you can do is if you have a data plan there is an app call smrtguard that can backup to an online storage. once completed it can be restored on your new device, providing your using the same SIM card.
