So lately i've been having issues when i go to watch youtube videos. Typically after a minute or two I'll get an error that says "An error occurred attempting to play media" or sometimes "Attempting to play unsupported format" even after I watched some of the video. I use m.youtube.com, and i've even used the optimize option and I'm still having this issue. Anyone else run into this issue before?? I'd rather not have to use a standalone player.

I've been having the exact same issue right from the beginning. I blame my carrier, but my carrier blames it on how RIM compresses the data stream. I am very curious to see if there is a solution.

Like i said in the original post i'd rather not use a standalone player

I'm guessing you guys tried a hard reset, but gotta mention just in case:

With the power on, remove the battery for a least 30 seconds. Then try again.

I don't use m.youtube.com, but haven't had troubels when I do. I'm using 9700/5.0.0.714 now, but also used it before on an 8820. Lots of buffering on EDGE, of course, but perfect on wifi.

Same here, regular you tube player works well for me...
