Unhappy NOOB Q; initializing/runtime error

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everybody

Same story as usual, my boss put me in charge of BES Admin which I know nothing about, eager to learn though!

Installed the Exchange server 2003 on our Windows server 2003 SP2 machine, followed the installation guide on the BB site and continued to installed the BES.
Everything seemed to go just fine, testing the database and the internet connection (non-wireless) goes great but status in BBmanager has been stuck on 'Initializing' "forever" (+ 24h). Also tried connecting our 8700 via USB but still does not help, the device has been recognized by the BES connection manager though.

This feels like a kind of stupid question but I know the user email set in the MSDE differs from the email on the actual device. I assume these must be equal, can I just log in as administrator and edit this email to the correct email set on the 8700?

And another thing, I also get the runtime error (pointing to the BBmanager .exe) occasionally when trying to click enterprise activation.

Very thankful for any help, please..

I'm guessing the exchange and BES are on the same server here and that you are trying to use desktop redirection?

The BES and the Exchange servers are on the same computer.
I´m assuming the BB manager can not connect to the MSDE properly. Although I have managed to retrieve one user from there. (Using the BES express so one user is all that is permitted I guess).

I know I set all the correct permissions during the installation, does it sound like that is usually the problem?

Have started getting those emails to my device now as well, saying:
"This message is used to carry data between the blackberry and an associated server...."
It is connected by USB to the computer.

When selecting the user in the BB manager it says, amongst others, "Disable redirection" so I guess I am using some kind of redirection.
