I think that Lee is right on
Collaboration (multimedia based) is a business tool
Downloading (or streaming) your CEO's quarterly report (MP3, other type?) to your BB is a business activity
Downloading your voice message (wav file) from email (unified messaging) is a business activity...

One can bundle an eOffice like application (arrange and save files on BB) with a javazoom app. and a UI to deliver the end result. Content not quality (e.g., high quality audio) matters...

I am not a SW designer, but I see a business opportunity

Uh, I already have voice messages on my BlackBerry, it's called voice mail. And I already have the ability to listen to real-time information on my BlackBerry, it's called telephone calls (though I've never sat in on a conference call from my BB).

If I wanted these types of activities I would explore the Palm side of the world. Personally, I prefer that my BlackBerry rarely crashes, unlike my laptop, which does handle streaming video/audio.

Well, you have voice message on your blackberry, but can you broadcast one? Or can you receive voicemail broadcast?
And then there is a thing called internet radio. It is about the only source of independant broadcasts today. At least the only such source I'm aware of. Using BB to make access to it mobile would be great.

I think here is the secret grasshopper, I don't think RIM will ever add this capability just like RIM doesn't give you the ability to edit a word document. However, thrid party people may someday reach this level of intelligence and bring forth music from your BB.

Keep the faith honorable grasshopper...

Thumbs up MP3 Playing important business usage

Just to add something to the discussion our online paging services sends out emails with the messages in mp3 format (along with almost all online voip acounts). It would be great to be able to listen to these without connecting a computer. Sure i can dial in and get the messages but that is another step. I would be extreamly suprised if this isn't being looked into. I could care less about playing music on my blackberry, however some of my small business clients might disagree. Moving ahead is progress I don't expect rim to put there head in the sand on this issue (as they haven't in the past)

PS were is wireless public folder sync

thanks Parker
