Hi Guys

Were using BES 5 and management are getting more and more frustrated with people using their own email accounts e.g. hotmail, gmail on their devices.

I know I need to change settings (per device) to FIREWALL - INCOMING MESSAGES - BLOCK BIS.

But the user will soon find out how to stop this, is there a way that we can push it out using a IT policy on BES?

In addition to what knotty said, you can also try to ask your mobile telephony carrier to issue subscriptions that only allow Blackberry Enterprise mails. For example our carriers offer:

- Blackberry professional: BES access only
- Blackberry professional plus: BES and BIS access

Your mileage may very with your carrier but possibly worth to ask.

instead of upsetting the users, deploy BlackBerry Balance so they can do their personal stuff and not cross into the work stuff

If you use Pull Access rules , disallow BIS URLs for each carrier in your organization.

However, I'm still unable to find the said policy rule under
"Allow Other Message Services IT Policy"

Do you know where I can locate this on the BAS page?

Ive navigated to POLICY > Manage IT Policies > Default IT Policy > Edit.

Implementing new addon's is not an option, they require something to work with our current solution. (Just a BES 5.0 server).

Sorry to make it a toughie guys, I thought it would be easy!

Are you on BES Express? Express has fewer policies than BES full, so you might not have it.

I *think* this is full BES, although to be honest I'm unsure how to review.

Look in "Uninstall a Program". What do you see?
