Woot! Downloaded it first thing this morning. I notice my @ replies come thru quicker, and they are now a different color.

EDIT: Moved to Social Networking forum.

Downloaded and using, I like the new UI and the app appears to be quicker then it's previous version.

It does seem the RIM twitter app gives me notification sooner then UT does.

I usually use twitter4bb. For now, its Ɯbertwitter. I like the ability to add to top bar and view conversations. Very nice.

I was not a big fan of the first 7 releases of Ubertwitter but I am very impressed with Beta 8. Definitely worth a look if you haven't tried this version yet.

My son and I are both having major battery drain issues with this latest version. His battery was completely dead by 8:30 last night (after charging the night before) and mine was as well.

Not a good start, IMO.

I have mine set at 30 minutes refresh, and auto-refresh when open.

I think there s a backlight setting which makes the screen brighter. You may want to uncheck. Because of the non message integration, there is less notifications occurring. I seem to have better battery success with this app compared with RIM app.

I found the backlight setting and have changed that (thanks, didn't see that one). I also set the refresh out to 1 hour.

Battery is currently at 50%....after charging all night and having not had UT running today. Will see what happens after these changes.

Battery at 20% with UT running in background and with normal use. Barley 90 minutes later.

Hmmmm. Are you going to use another app? I also shut off location settings, the geotagging and some other items which helps.

I think I will switch back to the official version offered in the app store. Or just use it when I want to check tweets, then make sure I exit out.

I have the location stuff and goetagging off, too.

I have mine set to 5 min w/location and geotagging on but not to refresh when I open and I am draining at 4.5%/hr today

Really not bad IMHO. I have had a lot worse.

Quite like this newer version. Seems a bit quicker and the ability to change themes is a nice touch.

Have you tried the Seesmic app? I've found it to be quite good. It's fast (retrieves tweets a lot quicker) and also very good on battery. The only thing lacking is the auto-name complete feature.

Seesmic mentioned they had an update forthcoming. I sort of prefer an app with a noticeable top bar as opposed to clicking the menu key and with Seesmic also scroll down. I do like its RT function however.

I went back to Twitter For Blackberry for now. I did like the tweetphoto setup as it was shrinking my pix.
