Default GMAIL Two-Way Sync

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone gotten the two-way sync to work using the integrated BB email client and GMAIL? Currently if I read an email on my Blackberry, it will be marked as read on the web-based email. But if I read the email on the web-based, the Blackberry still shows the message as new. This is very annoying.

It seems Yahoo is the only one that supports two-way sync right now, and I've thought about switching over. I signed up for an @att.net email address from get.att.net and the two-way sync works great. Only thing is Yahoo doesn't have a Contact and Calendar sync tool like Google does.

I believe Gmail only supports two-way deletion (which still takes a while when you delete on GMail), but not read/unread status. Here is a knowledge base article with a table:

I haven't tried setting Gmail up using the IMAP way, so it may be possible.

Look forward to Gmail 2-way read/unread sync when BIS 2.7 comes out, hopefully this summer.

I sure hope true 2-way with Gmail comes out with the next BIS release. Are they stating 2.7 will have it?

Haven't heard about those rumors at all.

Hope it's true because that would be pretty nice..

Sorry to sound like a broken harp, but I was NOT happy today - I deleted over 200 emails (a few days worth) on my gmail acct from my PC and all the emails still remained on my handheld. annoying.

If you highlight the day you can use the delete prior option, unless you need to save certain emails..

But I would save them first then do a delete prior.

I just delete them or read them on my Blackberry, and the web is then taken care of.

This is exactly the issue Steve. There are certain emails throughout the week that I needed to save. What makes it worse is on the BB 8330, I cannot sort by name or even subject as this would make it a little easier to mass del from my BB.

I use BB and desktop (Outlook Express) about equally to view emails; also, I share an email acct with my partner ... so lack of true 2-way sync really is a shortcoming of the BB/gmail setup

Best options would be, use the search feature and save the emails.

or just go threw the emails save everything you want and then do the mass delete, emails you save will always be placed in the "saved messages" folders, and can be deleted from the "messages" without worry.
