Default 7750 download ringtone

I have a new blackberry and not well versed in all the capabilities yet...I noticed that others have asked about ringtones, so am I correct in saying that it is not possible to download a song as a ringtone? Thanks!

I was able to download several midi files to my 7750 (just remember that this thing has very little memory....mine's 12MB).
The only problem i had was that some midi files played faster then normal speed for some reason.

I know a few good sites, one I've always used for various other midi only phones (such as my old sony ericsson), I used World of Midi. I don't remember the site off hand, but a simple yahoo search will bring it up.

The question still remains how to load onto the BB, which that I'm not even remotely sure how lol. Hopefully someone can provide insite, but World of Midi has a boat load of Midi's to play with, they're geared more for playing on a keyboard, but a midi is a midi ;)

Sue - I too have a 7750. Realizing that ringtones are more oriented to cellphone-typesthan to a business device like BB, I am disappointed in the 7750 ringtone capability. Most other cellphone and PDA devices seem to allow ringtone uploading from your PC, but with the BB, you need to have a web browser so you can download the ringtone from the internet. Hopefully and PDAs and cellphones converge, BB will enable a feature allowing downloadable ringtones from one's PC. For the life of me, I don't understnad wi RIM doesn't allow ringtone loading thru the Desktop Manager!!

Not sure if you can load ringtones via desktop manager but you can definitely do it via the browser on the BB. simply to to the site, play the file and if you like it, save it.
Then go to Profiles, click the trackwheel and select Show Tunes - this will show you the list of available ringtones you can select and your new file should show up there.
Again, I am running OS 4 on my 7750 so you may not have these same options if you have an earlier version.

hope this helps.
