One way is to set up a password and enter it wrong 7 times There's a few programs out there that'll do it too, someone will chime in shortly with a better answer I'm sure.

There's a sticky on the top of this page about reloading/installing new devices. Give it a whirl.

As mentioned in another thread (that search function sure is nice, I tell ya), you can go to Settings/Options then Security then click your trackwheel and click on Wipe Handheld.

You can also use 'javaloader -usb wipe' to accomplish the same thing. I even wrote a nice little howto on how to do that.

If you want the OS back on there, you'll have to refer to bfrye's mentioning of the sticky on this forum for that.

Hmmm. I tried that and it didn't work.

I set a password.
Locked the BB.
Tried to ulock with the wrong password 10 times.
Loged in with the right one and every thing was still there.

Am I missing some thing?

______

Ok.

I've only had my BB for about 2 hours with out any docs on it. I tried the password trick again but with success this time. I had no idea that if you tried the password with only one char, it wouldn't count as a bad attempt.

Sometimes I've seen it take 10-15 mins to boot after a hard reset. If it still doesn't come up, try reloading the OS on your device.

Look at the newcomers thread, you find a faq section in Mark's post where you can find nearly all this information, plus a walkthrough on reloading your OS written by myself.

Good Luck!

Also in the faq is a link for where to download OS updates for your handheld. It doesn't necessarily have to be your carrier's OS updates, other's will work as well.
