Post PIN Messages

I have a question about PIN messaging. My niece has an older BB and I looked up her PIN and sent her a PIN message. She never received it.

She has no Internet package, but she does have text. Did I do something wrong or must you have Internet to us the PIN?

You must have a BlackBerry Data Plan (not just Internet) for PIN to PIN messaging to work.

i have something that i think is related. when i send text messages to other people, i will get the check mark. sometimes it may take 2 minutes, sometimes it will take 4 minutes, it varies, then a small "D" will appear. What does that mean? Does that mean it was actually opened and read by the recipient? i thought a check mark meant it was successfully sent. i also thought that the checkmark with the "d" only showed up when you were sending a PIN to PIN message to other blackberry users.

D means Delivered, which is different than sent.

Not necessarily.

However, if you use Blackberry Messenger, you'll see D for delivered, then R for read. Not for PIN messages, though. Just the D for delivered.

Check means it has been successfully sent from your BB and accepted on your carriers network. A red X means it failed. A clock means it is waiting to be sent.

a check means that it was sent out of your device.

a d means that it has be received on the other persons device.
