i'm thinking the quicklaunch team took notice of their app's compatibility with .141 ? maybe i'll see an update email for a newer version....when that happens, i'll dl .141 and give it a spin.

Default QuickLaunch Won't Work with .141

I downloaded this OS and QuickLaunch is very erratic. Has anyone else had the same problem?

***I started writing this before I went to bed last night. Now I see that the issue has already been raised. Please ignore this post.***

Default My findings

I upgraded this morning from .132 to .141. Let me first say that I am on a BES and our IT has a password policy in place. I cannot speak to the lock issue that has been raised. I also do not use quicklaunch.

.132 ran ok for me. The only issue I had was sometimes during screen rotation, my screen would become very "pixelated". It would be fine within a split second. After the update this morning, I did the obligatory battery pulls and my findings so far are as follows:

Free memory has been holding in the low 40's. I have a couple of apps running but not a lot.

Screen orientation seems as good as .132. Seems very responsive.

Signal strength seems better than .132 for me. On .132, I had more issues than any other BETA with staying at 1EXV. In my office (basement of an 1898 structure) this build seems to stay locked on 1EXV.

Browser is very faster. Some minor typing lag but IMO, better than previous builds.

All in all, this appears to me to be a good build. Until such time as it proves me wrong, I will be keeping.

Yes I hold EDGE no problem until I attemp to use my browser. Sometimes Googlemaps works fine other times its loses data connection and i have to turn off wireless connection an then turn back on.

This what happens to you to? or when you say yours holds do you mean that you have no browser or gmm issues?

I don't have any browser problems, no.

Some third party apps like Slacker radio cause the EDGE to drop to edge. Not a big deal for me, I don't need no stinkin' radio.

(Actually streaming radio has worked... I think on .113, I haven't tried it on .141)

Default Os .141

Hey all,

I just went from .103 to .132 about 10 days ago.

It was my judgement that the releases between the two had too many issues. .103 and .132 are IMO the most stable releases above the .100 level.

.141 was recently leaked and IMO its too buggy for the 9530. I was thrilled about the notion of WIFI and a new feature (locking). However it seems one must load cracks to get this version to run well. There also appear to be issues with camera operation - a feature I use quite often.

Many of you have appreciated my assessments in the past and willingness to beta test. So as an avid and loyal Storm user I am going to give a thumbs down on .141. If you seek further consultation, go examine the .141 blog on Crackberry. Several users have reverted to previous OS's after a brief run with .141.

I am thinking a .150 to .160's OS will emerge soon with the bugs worked out.

Just my 2 cents.

Huh? Who said .141 would enable WiFi? Sorry, no.

Two thumbs up here . Camera is snappier than ever on .141, no haaacking nothing, just the pure OS.

Aside from the locking issue, .141 has been running great for me. And when it comes to the locking problem, I've found that if you have AutoLock installed and let your Storm automatically lock from the app, it will stay locked even after pushing buttons.

there's a fix for the lock issue
as for the quicklaunch, call me noob but what is quicklaunch?

.122 had an unstable EDGE. this one held the EDGE for few mins after reboot.

A quick search of this site or blackberrynews.com or even google would answer that question.

It's a great time-saving app for the Storm, especially.

Anyone else experience worse Bluetooth reception? I use my BT in the house a lot and in certain areas that it used to get reception it no longer holds and I get massive static on both ends.

Radio on CDMA is great much more improved than .132, but 1XEV still drops at random times for no reason...but quickly reconnects

my lock/unlock works perfectly fine and no flickering on quicklaunch...weird...

browser is still fast

battery leak has been addressed but not fixed entirely (more improved on phone calls, but still bad when backlight is on for long periods of time)

good build...seems like its all heading in the right direction finally...

so you're using Quicklaunch and you haven't experienced an issue with it in .141 ?

I had a similar issue after loading .141 I deleted my bluetooth earpiece from my Storm, pulled the battery then re-paired my ear piece. Static is gone.

YMMV but it worked well for me.
