Default Newbie not receiving MMS Messages

Please Login to Remove!

Hi As the title says im new to the BB 8300. I have a second hand unit that came from Ebay. The previous owner stated that he had unlocked the phone and used it both on Vodafone uk and T Mobileuk. I have put my Vodaphone contract in to the phone and all is working ok (email, internet and sending MMS) but i cannot receive mms. can anyone help me with this

The other part of my question concerns upgrading my software on the phone. If I upgrade my software from 4.2 to 4.5 Where do I get my Vodafone settings from and how do i enter them into the phone.

Sorry if these questions have been asked before but i have just spent two hours reading through the threads and have not found the answers i am looking for

Many thanks in advance

Im not to familiar with Vodafone, but if you ARE able to receive MMS you might need to have the MMS config Service book sent to your device. Some carriers like Sprint dont support MMS.

After upgrading you should b good to go. IDK if this is exactly what your talking about but try this if you still need it.

Hi thanks for your reply. I tried putting in the settings as listed on the link you sent me but still dont get MMS to come through. Its strange, ive never had a phone let me send MMS but not let me receive them before. The fact that i can send them makes me think that all the settings must be correct on the phone and that it might be some thing to do with my carrier instead.

Hi

Go to options >MMS and ensure multimedia reception is set to always and that automatic retrieval is set to always or home only.

Can you send yourself one?

Failng that a chat with Vodafone may be in order.

If you upgrade your OS you will probably have to go to Vodafones email set up webpage to resend your service books to the device which will restore your settings.
