I get where your coming from, but there is something not right about that. It states if no contract, there is no fee, but up top it says in the first 12 months you would pay 100 dollars to cancel within a 36 month contract. What is it from 12-36 months?

This would kinda make sense as to why I get customers who activate at Wireless Wave's saying they could cancel after one year with the data, because Wireless Wave sells for all four carriers.

I'll have to look into this further and ask our national team about this, thanks for pointing it out!

Edit: I think I figured out what's throwing me off, it's the word "additional", additional to what? I have actually heard Telus will charge higher ECF's then what is on their website if you cancel within the first year, so I wonder if that is on top of their standard 200 dollar fee for cancelling data? Data is 10x remaining months at a max of 200 with them.

The way I read it is that it is additional to the max $700 that you will have to pay for breaking the voice contract. It doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't a smaller fee charged if you cancel your data after 12 months, it just doesn't say it. I thought I would post because it seemed to lend support to those who claimed after 12 months there is no penalty.

Don't listen to the Roger's rep, he only knows what his carrier offers. Telus will allow customers to axe their data plans after 12 months without penalty. And the data cancellation is $100 on top of the $20 per month remaining on the contract for the voice plan. So, if you sign up for a 36 month contract with a data option, and decide after 10 months that you want to cancel the contract, you'll pay $100 data cancellation fee and $520 early cancellation fee. There's no fee if you just want to drop the data feature after 12 months.

I'm not a Rogers rep and I'm a female.

This must be a new change to their terms, as a few months ago I had to learn the ins and outs of all the carrier terms, back when they were charging 200 for removing data, as well as Bell, and Fido, and Rogers is 100 dollars.

If it's changed, it's news to me, I'm just suspicious. I get mixed messages from dealers stating Telus offers to buy out contracts, and others tell me they don't, so I like to look into the terms and what is legally allowed.

I'm only expressing that I wish the OP takes caution.
