A bit more detail would help on the version of DM your using and the contact list source.
Outlook normally will sync without any issue unless there are miss-matches in things like columns or even a corrupted. You should check options on the DM and make sure they are set correct.
You can try deleting everything on the BB and using DM just try a sync with only contact info going one way. If you can delete the contact list on Outlook and try adding one or two and see if it will sync.
The only thing I can find at the RIM support site is references to miss matched data.
There is no direct reference to the error your getting
