Default Keypad locking

Please Login to Remove!

My blackberry is getting very good a phoning people on it's own!
Are there any quick lock keys that can be used on screens other than the home screen?? I have disabled the dial from home function so I can lock using k, but that only works on the home screen.
Is there a shortcut from the messages or phone screens?
Many thanks.

You should still holster it all the time, even though it's in "your bag"...it will increase your battery life by like 100%, protect the screen, stop calling strange numbers at late hours, etc.

I agree, keep it in the holster...but if you insist on letting it roam free , you can press the "K" key from the main screen and the keys will lock.

You'll just double-click the wheel to unlock them.

And do not complain when it gets scratched or the screen gets broken.

I even holster mine when its just riding on the passenger seat of my car just in Case I have to stop fast or anything to protect it. Its too expensive to replace and I would be lost with out it.

Wow... A basic 'no, you can only lock it from the home screen if unholstered' would have done.
I shall crawl back under my stone, suitably chastened for being an unworthy keeper of a BB.

under your security in options,

select enable password
security time out (desired time ex: 1min, 2 mins)
Select save
enter password
reenter password

Done
But you should still holster your handheld. $300+ phone!!!

Thanks for the helpful response Corey.
(BTW, the bags it sits in all cost more than the BB, so you can all stop worrying!)

Strawberry I wasnt criticizing you, its your phone and your preference I was just stating what I do.. I know some peoples responses on this forum seem to be misconstruded due to the fact that you cant pick up on how it was meant. In Real life body language and facial expressions help to over come remarks made in jest. So dont take everything so serious in the forums. And good luck with your expensive bag and cheap phone .. ;p wink wink nudge nudge lol

You're quite right... nuances are lost in type Thanks for posting that, it was really nice of you to take the time as I was a bit surprised at the responses...
I suppose I would have been more receptive to hints on bag keeping!!!

And thanks again Corey - that is exactly what I wanted, it works.

Strawberry,
A number of people scroll through these forums quickly, and throw in their two cents just as fast. 99% of the time, people are just trying to help, and their short responses may seem curt, but are not intended that way.
It's just the opposite, as in this thread, 5 people tried to give you some help/encouragement/advice.
Try to see it in that context...my experience has been that this forum is extremely friendly!
