Default Sprint 8330 email issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Sprint 8330 Curve that I upgraded to 4.5.0.77 a couple weeks ago. Well everything has been going well untill yesterday. I went to my blackberry browser and it says I have an unknown device. I got three emails two different times yesterday saying I had requested my BIS pasword which I didn't do. Now last night and today my emails only come through when I send an email. I have tried a battery pull, resent service books, ran setup wizard nothing seems to help and the browser still says unknown device. Any Ideas?

It is odd that's happening. I don't have a concrete answer for you but you may want to try to register the host routing table. It is a shot in the dark, but it may be worth a try.

Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Menu Key > Register.

Good luck

Try this: Go the the Manage Connections app, select Mobile Network Options, bring up the menu and select Start Provisioning. Log into https://www.sprint.blackberry.com and resend your service books too.

I still find this odd. Maybe you have a corrupt service book. Try deleting the browser service book and resend your service books.

So this happened after the upgrade of 4.5.0.77, correct? Was it pretty instant that you had issues or did the browser work for a few days and then stop working?

If it worked for a while, did you install any other themes or applications prior to this not working?

I installed 4.5.077 and everything was ok for a couple weeks except that Sprint Radio didnt work but I have heard that from almost everyone who has upgraded. Then yesterday I noticed my emails were not coming through properly. When ever I would send an email I would then get all my incoming emails at the same time. Started looking around and found that the browser says unknown device the browser still works just says unknown device. I haven't added any other software.

I would suggest maybe to try to wipe and reload the OS on your device.

I just did a google search for your error and it looks like you are not alone. Other sprint users are having the same issues after updating to 4.5.0.77.

New blackberry sprint home page? - Page 2 - SprintUsers.com

I would imagine more sprint BB users would have reported that here if it were an issue.

I would speculate that it has to do with the phone having an OS not supported by Sprint. Hopefully things will clear up when Sprint pushes 4.5 out for their devices within the next millennia.

Your probably right and who knows when or if Sprint will ever release 4.5. I love the new features but begining to wonder if my email not being reliable is worth it.

I am running 4.5 without any email issues myself. Did you try deleting your email accounts on the BIS site and adding them back? It's worth a shot.

I may be missing something here but it sounds a bit to me like someone may have hacked your BIS account. If your getting emails saying a password request was made I'd check into that. If that is the case is it possible someone changed your device in your online BIS setup? Either way I'd check that then call Sprint's Blackberry Support and get them working on it. I did a warranty exchange a while back and somewhere along the line my BIS account got disabled, it took some patience with tech support but they did get my issue resolved.

Just a thought since I am also running .77 on Sprint with no issues except the annoying hourglass.

Just incase anyone is interested I seem to have fixed the email problems by deleting all the email service books and resending them then doing a battery pull. I must have gotten a corrupt service book some how. My browser still says unknown device but like stated earlier I think that is due to Sprint not having released the 4.5 OS.
