Default Installing New OS For Curve 8330

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know when you install your new OS, and you gotta pick the programs to put back into your phone, what do you guys pick?

Got another question. When i do install the OS and i go into Desktop Manager to install the OS and have to pick what programs to put back into my phone, there are some that are blacked out? One of the programs that are blacked out is my browser, and i am having problems with the internet.

One more question. Has anyone had trouble with the internet icon? Its there but i have to press the blackberry button and go to switch application and in that list its in there. When i first got it my internet icon was on my desktop of my phone, now i got it back from bell, its not there now. My internet doesnt work on there too. It says i cant go onto the internet contact my bell rep. Bell said that the internet data is sending out of my phone to there tower and back to my phone, but i still cant get internet. Did anyone have this problem, if so did you get it fix and how did you get it fixed?

I just choose the apps I use. If it's greyed out you can't uncheck it. The browser must be installed.

Tip: use Loader.exe found in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader to update your OS rather than Desktop Manager.

It sounds like your device is not properly provisioned with a BlackBerry data plan. Call them back and make sure that they have a "BlackBerry Data Plan" on your account. Once your account is provisioned properly, then go to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table...hit menu and select Register Now. Do you get a registration message in your message list?

I do have a data plan. I was talking to bell all day saturday. I hit the Host Routing Table and it register Now, it came back saying it was succesfully but there is nothing in the list.
Where do i find apploader? I always use desktop manager, i`ll try apploader

I posted where Loader.exe is found in my post above.

Do you have a "manage internet email" or "setup internet email" icon? That is also pushed when the proper data plan is provisioned.

Then something is not provisioned correctly on your account. You are not getting the proper service books and provisioning. You'll need to call Bell back and get that straightened out before you can get the Internet Browser and email icon. Tell them that you need a "BlackBerry" plan on your account. It does cost extra.

I do have a blackberry plan though. I am paying for data plan, bell said everything is fine, its just my phone is not co-operating. I just formate my phone again. I use apploader too and the internet and browser is all blacked out!

on the desktop manager apploader when you install the OS using apploader there is a list of stuff you can checkmark ti install on your device. There are some programs (IE: Browser & Email) is all blacked out!

It's "greyed" out, meaning you can't deselect it. That is normal.

I don't know what to tell you. Until your device is provisioned properly it won't matter how many times you wipe or what you do to it, you won't see a browser or the Email icon.

This sucks, i am bringing it in on Wednesday to get sent out to be fix. They better fix it and it better not cost me anything, or else i might have to give up my cell phone for a while.
