Ok, so I upgraded from a REALLY old version to this (b/c of an app error) and I don't really like the new version of the software MAINLY because I lost the notepad... so is there a way I can get a notepad in this version of the software? Or maybe theres an app that allows me to store lists like the notepad did?

I have recently upgraded my 9000 to V5.0.0.681 and it is a nightmare. I use a MAC and am on Orange UK. Can I download this link to 1385 and use it through my MAC version of Desktop manager please or do I need to go another way.

Thanks

Steve

Default My problem

Now, I have a question.
I am in India, and the data carrier is Idea Cellular. I have the unlimited data plan activated on my phone.
When I click on Settings>About, I get Blackberry 9000 smartphone (3G, Wi-Fi) v4.6.0.266 (Platform 4.0.0.223). Does this mean I am running an old version. Then why, when I try to update it through the blackberry website, it says latest software already running?
Can I go ahead and install this version? Will it work here in India? I bought my phone already unlocked, in the sense, it is not carrier specific.

Never mind. I went through with it and it has installed alright. Will let you know the experience in a day or two.

2 things. Atleast my Win 7 does not have 'compatibility files' icon. And The mute button does not unlock my phone. I had to pull out the battery.

Rest is alright.

Cheers, Thanks.

@Bacchus, LCD clock is working fine on mine.
I too faced the sound problem. There were no tones what so ever, neither during a phone call, sms received nor when i clicked on 'try it'. Rebooting solved it.

Have been using this new OS for about a week and so far my bold is working great. No memory leaks issues, no ringer tones problems.

Thanks!

Voice fixed?
Does this release do anything for the voice jitter/stutter issue that many including me experience with all 5.x builds on the 9000?

Default Need to edit Blackberry.xla??

Tried the above, but will not load the 5.0 OS. I've read elsewhere that in addition to deleteing the vendor.xml file you need to edit the Blackberry.xla file to "remove" vendor_id codes. I assume this has to be done using EXCEL and VB script - can anyone post a procedure i.e. to identify exactly which lines to remove or REM if that will solve the issue. A quick look at my BB.xla file in notepad showed there was about 20 lines referencing vendor_id and at least a dozen codes!

So far so good. I like the look of this new OS. In fact is so good, I think I'm starting to grow my hair back.
