You need to be a little more clear. What does the phone currently show? A JVM 507 error?

If so, take a look here to get the device to connect to your PC:
What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

You will then need to install the OS for your device onto your PC and then run Loader.exe to install it on your device. I would post a link for you but I am not sure what model igot2 is. I assume that's your way of saying you have two devices. Not sure though.

Follow the link that jsconyers posted above. You will need to reload the software on your device to use it again.

I could post you a link to the OS and instructions, but I am unaware of which device model is having issues? Is it a Bold 9000?

Your backup files have nothing to do with this.

What didn't work? What happened? Did you get an error messages? We need details to help you.

Don't disconnect the BlackBerry.

Follow these 2 steps:

2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
