I was saying that, IMO, 5.0 was better than 4.x. I especially love 5.0's "resizing of images within the send" functionality. It is so nice to be able to send only a 640x480 picture to people, if you like, instead of the 1600x1200 as before - it transmits faster, and if you are like my wife, who only has EDGE, smaller file sizes are better.
I don't know if .238 is better or worse than .314, but I still had to do the browser hack that is described somewhere here, that uses the CrackUtil program. If you didn't know, 5.0 was not showing the Internet Browser; it was only showing MediaNet. However, just follow those instructions, to the letter, and you will have the good browser (BB Internet Browser, instead of only MediaNet, which is cr@p) back. Plus the browser seems a lot faster, too - I don't know if it is just because the OS is better or what. |

hi all, I have just updated from 5.0.0.238 to 5.0.0.314 and have noticed a real slow down in the device, it keeps stopping with the egg timer, anyone else noticed this, also looks like 5.0.0.348 is out in the wild anyone tried it

How can I update my Bold without a service plan. When I want to upgrade it says..
"you need an active blackberry@-serviceaccount" I dont have one just bought the BB yesterday from a friend.

It runs nice & fast for me but battery drains pretty quick...
Quick Pull doesnt work with it keeps erroring out..

Ok I just found out something very annoying about this OS...Usually when I put my phone in the holster I hold the button to put in stand by mode...Well now when u get a call you cant just press the answer key you have to take it outa stand by mode then answer..I just missed 2 calls because of this..LOL D'oh

Problem Loading Os
I can't get the OS to load. My Bold keeps wanting to up date to .297 instead of the 5.0.0.314 I have tried to manually navigate to the file I want to load and it tells me that its not compatible with my phone.  |

maybe clearing the Event Log might help? ALT L ALT G twice. Than clear the log
