After a battery pull, I have about 40-41 mb, then idles down to 36-38 mb. When I use 3 or 4 apps, It goes down to like 31 or 32. I have a total of 16 apps.

So my Bold is THE WORST, it seriously gets down to 2 or 3 MB (on a 4.6.167), no joke. This blows.
I just "upgraded" to .282 and it's HORRIBLE, just scrolling from one icon to another takes few seconds, WOW, maybe I did something wrong. Ima try and do it again...
So madd rite now, its not even funny.

When I loaded the .282 my Bold ran a little slow for a few minutes. I used crackmem to load it taking out some the "fluff". I did two battery pulls within 10 minutes to clean any fragments out of the software (if that can be done) whatever it did it worked for me. Four days into .282 and my Bold is running great.
I don't run many third party apps though:
Google maps
Opera mini
BB Wap
Bolt
Good Luck with it.

All new OS take a few days to sort out and get up to speed.

Those are some wild drops in memory. I usually get only a 10MB drop (v4.60.167) with 24-26MB after battery pull.
Have you checked out logMaid (free) - wipes log clean every hour automatically in the background to help free up memory.
It would be interesting to know what apps the folks with huge drops are running. Maybe it's a common app with a really bad memory leak.
I'm running: AT&T Navigator, BeBuzz, BeWeather, Bitify, Dejalink Sync, ExpenseManager, Facebook, Flickr, Google Map, ITookThisOnMyPhone, logMaid, Opera Mini 4.2, Pandora, SmartView, SplashID, TwitterBerry, Yahoo! Messenger,

Did you all notice that the File Total went down from 99 to 93 in 282. I think I was on 266 before.

I'm at 49MB at the start of day, dropping to 30MB by end of day.
Quick Pull is scheduled daily early morning.
3rd party apps:
Viigo, Beyond 411, WorldMate Live, Repligo,PageOnce, AP Mobile, ESPN, Facebook, Fake Call, Google Maps, BlackBerry Wallet, Quick Pull, Sportsmobile and Free Tips.
From an earlier post, I was not able to see my downloaded movies in the Media/Video Folder. Using 'Explore,' I was able to locate the movies in the media card folder. Since upgrading t0 .282, the movies now appear in the video folder. Possible bug fix within the new build?
Great BB!

Possible/probable... but RIM never gives us a change log, so what they fixed/broke/addressed remains a mystery until we "find" it.
