I tested in a week period and it seems consistent.

Looks like there is a minimal difference between the two.
More convenient with Bluetooth, so I'm staying with Bluetooth.

Are those with or without the AT&T tethering plan?

I was under the impression with AT&T that one had to pay an outrageous fee for tethering that basically made it impractical (IMO). Is this no longer true?

Question How are you getting speeds above 115200!

How are you getting these speeds?
What com port driver / modem driver?
What version of USB?
Is this only available from certain providers?

Edit: I figured it out!

I had to update by bluetooth drivers and install the bluetooth stack from toshiba.
After the update I was given the option to select speeds above 115200.

Lots of people on this thread say that they're tethering via bluetooth. I'm tethering via a usb cable to a Sony Vaio Netbook running Windows Vista Home Basic and Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.7. However, I can't for the life of me figure out how to tether via bluetooth. I do have the pc and the Bold linked via bluetooth, but I can't get the notebook to connect the internet. My Bold shows that the b/t link to my pc has these bluetooth profiles:

* Headset
* Handsfree
* Serial Port Profile
*** Desktop Connectivity
*** Wireless Bypass
*** Data Transfer
*** SIM Access Profile
* Dial Up Networking
* Audio Source
* A/V Remote Control Target

Can someone kindly point me to a guide for BLUETOOTH tethering? I can find a guide for usb tethering, but not over b/t.

Has anyone tried tethering Bold with Apple (Macbook Pro)? Appreciate your guidance.

Also, I'm on Etisalat (using Blackberry in UAE) so not sure if anyone knows what Username and password I should be using for Etisalat. I also have AT&T account so would it make any difference if I use AT&T account info as compared to Etisalat even though the sim is Etisalat?

For Rogers, the tethering code is included in any data plan 1GB or GREATER. Anything below that would not have the code included, you might be able to call sutomer service and add it to a smaller data plan but it would not be in your best interest because the blackberry itself compresses data but when tethering data is full blow so you might want a bigger data plan.

I hope you arent. With Rogers anyways,tethering is included in my blackberry data plan seeing its over 1GB(i have the 6GB plan). I didnt realise you must pay an extra fee for tethering in other companies...interesting.
