Wirelessly posted (8830)

"Could not start the camera"

Before responding, here's what I've tried:

1) My memory is solid so it's not a function of too many open applications

2) Yes, I've done a battery pull, be it for 5 seconds or several minutes. I've pulled it when the phone was on and when it was off.

3) I've done the pull, removed the SD, booted and checked the camera again.

4) Covered the flash.

Under all of these scenarios, the error message still persists. Any thoughts or suggestions short of wiping the device and reinstalling the OS? Can I replace a .cod?

You might wanna pursue warranty exchange first.

However, some people in these threads indicated that pressing on the camera lens fixed their issue.

Yes. Pressing on the lens or hitting the speaker and lens sections moderately on the table will do the trick. ;)
I have gotten it and done it before with success. ;)

I had a similar issue with the camera on my 8310. I used the Desktop Manager to do a backup then wiped the phone and restored my backup. Camera works fine now.

Not sure if it'll help for you too or not.
